The combat is a combination of the real-time and micromanagement. You can fight the enemies like a you would on a normal game



or,



you can try a more tactical approach by pausing the action. You may press the spacebar to pause the game, and micromanage the characters and the next attach theyre gonna do



the gameplay is the same as other rpgs. you travel, but with more freedom. you can go whereever you like, and make the story progress from different directions.



Some say its boring. If youre the tactical type who enjoys micromanagement like Civilization, then its fun.What is the combat of dragon age origins like ?
You pause, move your party in to position, give orders, and then repeat until you win. It felt a bit more like a strategy game at times. That's not necessarily a bad thing for fights that require some thinking to win. But combat became super tedious against the low level mobs the game throws at you over and over. the first game is fairly boring you walk up and click on the enemy you wish to attack, you do not do anything other than select abilities you wish to use(similar to popular mmo's, or kotor 1 or 2), the second game however features real time combat
For PC it's more like a strategie game where you can zoom in and out for 360 it's more like the old game KOTOR.
