I have a lot of school work and thinking about installing it tommorow. just wondering how long it will take to install. is it really 20 gigsHow long does it take to install Dragon Age Origins and is it really 20 gigs?
If the box says it, it must be 20 gb. The thing is if its 1 dvd then it will most likely have to download A LOT. So, worst case scenario...hours... Best case 30 minutes not sure how fast your computer is (15 minutes for one can take over an hour on another)

How to make Lyrium enhanced weapon in Dragon Age Origins?

I was playing the game, and on the "Proving Grounds" just before the quest, the Proving Ground Master was mentioning that Regular weapons and Lyrium enhanced weapons are allowed for the proving grounds. I've tons of lyrium in my Inventory and I was thinking if I can get to some blacksmith or someplace where I can enhance the weapon using the Lyrium. How to make Lyrium enhanced weapon in Dragon Age Origins?
Yes, as said allready it means using runes, your weapon must have a rune slot, and you can buy various runes from vendors, a rune guide is here http://www.brighthub.com/video-games/pc/鈥?/a>

if you go to Sandal in camp he will enchant your weapon for you (he is slightly odd because of all the exposure to Lyrium : P)How to make Lyrium enhanced weapon in Dragon Age Origins?
I think he's referring to the Dwarf in the camp who enchants your weapons. Basically, he means you are allowed to use weapons that have been enchanted with Runes, as it is mentioned that part of that process uses Lyrium.

Whats stats should I pump up in Dragon Age Origins for a warrior?

So recently I've started a new game, a castless dwarf warrior. I wanted to know for a warrior what stats should I pay attention to and beef up and which ones I can neglect?

Before I played as a mage and put most of my attention on magic and got through the game fairly easy enough.Whats stats should I pump up in Dragon Age Origins for a warrior?
I remember playing it last year and I was a warrior too. I usually put most of my stats into Strength and the one state that increases hit points (think it was DEX but can't remember now).Whats stats should I pump up in Dragon Age Origins for a warrior?
Depends but if you go tank warrior end game on hardest difficulty still only vosses can kill you. I plated that my self insain how much dmg you can take. But dps warrior is good dmg on a single target and can crit insain on bosses and such. As for the stats for tank most endurance but with str that is not to far behind. Dps mostly str some willpoer and endurance for use of skill and hp for survival

In Dragon Age: Origins, how old is the protagonist?

What is the age the protagonist is supposed to be in each of the 6 origins? In Dragon Age: Origins, how old is the protagonist?
It never explicitly states how old the protagonist is, but it's usually implied it's very young. In Dragon Age: Origins, how old is the protagonist?
In the way characters interact with you and by the ages of your various family members it is implied that you are probably between 18-25. You can make a character look very old, but there will be a lot of immersion breaking moments if you do. For example having an older brother who's in his 30s during the human noble origin.

The specialization should have been automatically unlocked. When you level up it should be available to choose from in the specializations area of the first screen. If it isn't, then the only other possibility is that it's bugged and you will need to go back to an earlier save.

I have been playing for a while and got a few characterization class, but I haven't been able to see the effects of having got them. What should i do? (Champion class, Arcane Warrior, etc.)How Do I view my characterization classes in Dragon Age Origins?
I'm thinking you are saying that you unlocked the ability to become champion, arcane warrior etc. But you also have to choose which ones to activate on each charachter.

To do that you need to enter the "Level Up" screen. There will be a glowing + sign next to your characters portrait on the main play screen if you have points available to spend in the "Level Up" screen(s).

Once you click the glowing + you will see the specializations open to that char under his pic, along with the specialization points you have, to spend. You get two per char in the course of the game.

You activate one by simply clicking on it. If its greyed out , you cant learn it yet.

No, you cannot play online. The only thing that playing with an internet connection does is give you access to the Dragon Age servers through BioWare/EA for DLC. What kind of RPG is Dragon Age: Origins?

I know, sounds like a silly question. It's similar to one I had a few weeks ago about Mass Effect 2.

Is Dragon Age: Origins similar to Mass Effect 2 in the sense that you are told where to do missions etc. or is it more like Oblivion and Fallout where you're thrust into an open world with no idea what to do?What kind of RPG is Dragon Age: Origins?
It pretty much tells you what to do, just not in what order to do it XD so it can be confusing if you don't know where your going, though you can just look it up online and it will tell you where to go.

:D if you do get it! Heres a trick to level up all the way ~%26lt;3 , when your first mission (don't worry i wont go too far into detail so its not a spoiler) but for your first mission at the beginning at the camp, just get the blood, (you'll find out) and once you just get the blood go back and talk to the guy and he'll give you the exp and tell you to go get the scrolls, but you can just talk to him over and over till your leveled all the way up! XD sure some things can still kill you very easily but its nice if you get lost so you wont die as fast :)
It's sort of a mixture really, it's created by the same people as Mass Effect (BioWare) so you'll find a lot of similarities within the two games.

Personally I think it's a lot more open world than Mass Effect; you develop your character traits a lot more and the storyline isn't as linear. Also as you can choose the sort of character you are, there is hours of gameplay available and a different story each time depending on choices you make.

If you haven't bought it already then it's definately worth the look. What kind of RPG is Dragon Age: Origins?
The gameplay is more like World Of Warcraft in the fighting style aspects of it. (You pick a target, hit attack, and every so often your character will attack.) But it has a RTS feel in the sense you can switch between all of your party members then tell them what to do.

The game tells you where to go and if you play through all the quests and side quests in the game you'll get around 50+ hrs in it.

    Pros:

    1) Its a really fun game and has a great story.

    2)Classic RPG style

3)Multiple introductions actually add to your characters story

    Cons:

1)When the game ends it literally ends (unless you buy downladable content)

2)Every enemy you kill you'll never be able to fight again in that character profile

3)You'll end the game being lvl 20 something

Good game for $30 but if you're getting it I'd get the one with extra content because beating the game and working on your character for so long to just have it all end is dissapointing.
It goes back to the origins of BioWare RPGs. On PC and Mac the gameplay is similar to Baldur's Gate and some MMORPG's. You have an action bar with skills and you click on them to use them. You can pause the game and zoom out for a strategic overview.

The structure is very similar to other BioWare games. It's not open ended like The Elder Scrolls and Fallout 3. Instead you have a map screen and click where you want to go. Combat is not like Mass Effect, Fallout 3 and The Elder Scrolls. Your main quest is very straightforward so there's no getting lost. What kind of RPG is Dragon Age: Origins?
It's similar to Mass Effect (ME) but more so to Bioware's previous game, Knights of the Old Republic. You're told to do main missions (in any order you wish) and you can pick up a number of side missions on the way. It's not nearly as open world as Oblivion or Fallout where you can walk for hours in one direction but there are still quite a few places to explore.

I heartily recommend it, all the same.
More like Mass Effect series, definitely.

But be warned; this game is not only long, but has repulsive, TERRIBLE gameplay! The story is cool, for the most part, but I lost a bit of my soul going through this lame adventure. Just look up dialogues on youtube and save yourself the torture.
    FPS!

In Dragon Age Origins Where can I find Tomes of Skill and Sundry?

You can find one in the random encounter with the Dwarven Trader, and another one in the Elven Alienage, which you can't access till the Landsmeet portion of the game towards the end of the game, and the third and last one in the Dalish shopkeeper's inventory once you have complete at least two of the main quest missions (some people report him stocking it after any main missions, but others including myself can only find tomes in his inventory once the main portion of Redcliff and the Dalish missions are done).

Edit: The Dalish Shopkeeper is standing near the entrance of the Dalish Camp, opposite of the forest entrance. He's the one on the middle of a bunch of tables loaded down with some weapons and armors. There is also an assistant standing right next to him. Right in front of his shop is the pair of statues that face each other too.

Here's what you should do, buy GoW3 and beat it. Then trade it in for Dragon Age: Origins, which should be around $35 used by the time you're finished with GoW3, so you'll probably only need to come up with an additional $10/$20 for it.Should i get Dragon age origins:Awakening or God of War 3?
I think you should get Dragon age:Origins. Much better made game, in my honest opinion.

Is dragon age origins a good game?

I have always been into rpgs. But I have never found one that I liked until fable 2. It was an awesome game, but its way too short. Only like 12 hours of story mode. But i hear dragon age origins has somewhere around 100 hours.

    How is this game?

    How big is the world?

Does it have online or co-op?Is dragon age origins a good game?
    The game is okay.

    The world is pretty big.

There is no online or co-op.
Took me roughly 60 hours through one storyline (Human Noble). There's 6 storyline "Origins" to play through, and numerous sidequests. You could probably double the time if you raised the combat difficulty too.

It's not the most amazing graphic-wise, but it does the job (think KOTOR with improved textures), and nearly every line of dialogue is voiced.

The world is quite large, but there's no "overworld" exploration. Basically you can choose where you want to go ala Baldur's Gate 2, with chances of random encounters while crossing the world map.

No online or co-op, unless you count the ingame marketplace. You have multiple party members, though. With the amount of strategy needed for higher difficulties, I'd dare to say that multiplayer would hinder the experience.

In my opinion, it's one of the best story experiences available. Is dragon age origins a good game?
the game is great, world is fairly big, and there is no online or co-op but what i dont get is why poeple are taking so long to beat it i did every possible thing you can do in one playthrough in 25 hours on hard, ya the game is long if you play it like 3 times but alot of other rpg's are 50+ hours through one playthugh no matter how fast you go.so if your a slow gamer like every other person but me whos played this then you should get 100 hours out of it.

  • Question:: Dragon age origins, just bought, how to change spells formation?

Well i noticed on 360 dragon age origins (which freaking pawns btw!!!!!) and ive had one problem.

I noticed that the first spell pattern can have up to 3 spells, and i press L2 or R2 and the second pattern comes up with 3 more spells, i have to pages of spells.

How do i make them all appear at once, its rather annoying with this formation of switching.Question:: Dragon age origins, just bought, how to change spells formation?
I don't think you can make them all appear on the 'R2' menu - since they are each mapped to a button, and it's not like you have any more buttons.

What you could do is just select your spells through the 'L2' - Spells menu - I think there is a setting that makes the L2 button pause until you hit it again, so I'd set that up, open the spell menu when you want to use something, and then unpause.

  • Dragon Age Origins: What is the best character to tackle the game with?

I haven't got the game yet but I will be. I've heard there's a wide variety of customization at the start and I heard it's a long game. I'm just wondering what best class, race and other options to make it easy.Dragon Age Origins: What is the best character to tackle the game with?
As with all RPG's, choosing your class depends mostly on the style of gameplay you prefer. In terms of how powerful each class is, there is an overall balance somewhat, but, at least as far as I've played, the mage class is pretty brutal. However, it becomes apparent that a lot of the mage's abilities are hindered on any difficulty above easy (for the PC version that is, since friendly fire doesn't occur on the console versions of the game). A mage with an arcane warrior/blood mage dual spec is both resilient and damage-dealing, making it a very versatile class.

Just as well, a warrior with dual wield with berserker/templar (champion) specializations works for itself very good.

A rogue with an assassin/duelist specializations slices and dices very well and can effectively crowd control most enemies (except bosses).

In terms of race/class combos, in the end it all depends what physical aspect you prefer and what origin story appeals to you. The differences in bonuses are not so relevant but if you were to go by those I'd say the following work best:

    Warrior/Dwarf

    Rogue/Human

    Mage/Elf

    As general tips:

    Warrior:

    - If you plan on being the tank, max out weapon and shield skills, and punch up a lot of constitution early on, then focus on strength. I recommend Templar/Champion spec.

-If you plan on dual-wielding, it's a little more tricky, as you'll have to crunch some points into dexterity until level 12 when you can use 2 large weapons in each hand (until then you can only use daggers in off hand and their damage depends on depends on dexterity). I recommend Champion/Berserker or Berserker/Reaver.

-Two-handed weapons just need a lot of strength to master, and you can sacrifice some constitution, so long as you don't wear very heavy armor (your enemies tend to be more aggressive toward more heavily armored opponents, something which you should keep in mind if you want to tank as well). Berserker/Reaver is what I recommend.

    Rogue:

-If you specialize in dual-wield and not archery then you need both dexterity and cunning for damage and ability effectiveness respectively. I recommend Duelist/Assassin spec.

-Archery specialization requires much of the same attributes, since cunning also affects armor penetration which is useful for both specs. I recommend Range/Duelist or Ranger/Bard.

    Mage:

Your main attributes will be magic and willpower so try and maintain a balance between them. In terms of which tree of skills to choose, I found a mix between Primal and Entropy to be a good mix between damage and resilience. Also, spend one point in the heal ability since it will be worth a bunch.

Possible combinations depend on your play style so I'll list them with a slight description

Arcane Warrior/Spirit Healer (endurance given by both powerful heals and the ability to wear heavy armor)

Arcane Warrior/Blood Mage (versatile combo, both resilient and higly damaging through the Blood Wound Ability.

i made a human noblemen warrior, with shield and sword, amazing character.

How does the combat of dragon age origins fare with dragon age II?

I am wondering if its a good choice to get Dragon age origins becuase i have played with the 2nd game and it was okay and people say origins is all out better so i am wondering if origins features hack and slash gameplay or a different and more RPG influence.. and hows the graphics for DAO? and if DAO is good enough for the PS3 because thats the console im usingHow does the combat of dragon age origins fare with dragon age II?
DA2 has better combat, there is no question. Origins combat is going to feel slow and awkward in comparison. It's not unbearable, but you probalby won't enjoy it as much as DA2.

Graphics are a matter of taste. I think people overall look much better in DA2, especially female characters. The races are also much more distinct. But I do think that origins had better environments and more variety.

The biggest reason to go back and play origins is the story. It feels much deeper than DA2 and your choices have more influence.

If i didnt like dragon age origins will i like skyrim?

I've been looking into Skyrim but most of what i see reminds me of dragon age origins (which was fun at first but very boring after a while). so to thos who have played both games what do you think? If i didnt like dragon age origins will i like skyrim?
It depends on what you didn't like. Skyrim gives you a lot more freedom, there is also a much less linear story. You can do anything you want, whenever you want, however you want. But, the game still requires you to make your own fun. You only get out of Skyrim what you put in to it.If i didnt like dragon age origins will i like skyrim?
Not likely. They are very different but very similar at the same time. If you don't like a bunch of random quest, talking to people, buying and selling etc than I doubt you will like skyrim. Maybe these kind of games aren't your thing dude. Nothing wrong with that. Theres a lot of popular titles I just can't get into.If i didnt like dragon age origins will i like skyrim?
I useally don't like those kinds of games but I got addicted quick still am every one I know who has skyrim loves it. It dose get a little boring only if you do boring things. you need to explore but its really awesome you should try game fly to try it first
Totally it's so much different the only bad part is its so big and the storyline is so amazing so the graphics are like 2009 graphics

  • Should I get dragon age: origins or borderlands or assassins creed 2?

ok i cant decide which one to get, i like rpgs and fps games. i liked fallout, assassins creed 1, knights of the old republic, and a bunch of other games like that. i have a few friends who will play borderlands with me but idk. im not sure if i should buy assassins creed 2 because its kinda short and the price will most likely drop fast. and a lot of people says dragon age is bad on the 360. any opinions on what to buy?Should I get dragon age: origins or borderlands or assassins creed 2?
If you like RPG's, I'd definitely recommend you Dragon Age: Origins. I don't know who told you that the Xbox360 version is bad, because it definitely isn't. Only the graphics are really bad, so if you're someone who really cares about graphics I'd recommend you Assassin's Creed II.

Borderlands is, in my opinion, more of a shoot-'em-up with an environment that strongly reminds me of Fallout 3. The game is full with basic quests and it basically comes down on one thing; kill everything that moves. Sure, it's fun, especially with more players (but since you have only a few friends who'd play it with you..) but I don't think it's fun on a long-term. (by the way, if you have friends who own the game. Why not lend it or play it there some day?Judge for yourself!)

Dragon Age: Origins is a typical Bioware RPG. It has a lot of depth and it's all about making choices. You can chose who to be, how to encounter situations and even have a relationship with some of your characters. The graphics and animations of the 360 version suck as I said before, but it's the gameplay that does it. Plus, it's a very long game. It doesn't have a single player though.

Assassin's Creed II is so much better IMO then the first part. The graphics are beautiful and you finally get a link with the main character. The basic missions such as "save the citizens" and "flags races" are still there, but not necessary anymore and there are more of those missions then before. If you liked part one, which you said you did, I'm pretty sure you'll like this one as well.

Personally, I didn't think it was that short. But then again, I did a lot of side-quests and didn't rush through the main-quest. The game could have so much more depth then it has now though, but it's not really disturbing.
Tough choices, I haven't played assassins creed 2 yet, but I enjoy both of those games. If you want to sit down for awhile and really get into the game, get dragon age. If you want a fast paced action game you can put down and pick up whenever you want, go for Borderlands.Should I get dragon age: origins or borderlands or assassins creed 2?
You will ABSOLUTELY FALL IN LOVE WITH DRAGON AGE ORIGINS!!! and its great on the 360, Its much more fun on it. Obviously im biased, do what you want, but DA will have you hooked and the story is like you are watching an amazing movie but yet you control the decisions which of course, have consequences.
Dragon age gets boring after a while.

    Borderlands is alright.

I own Assassins Creed 2, and it is a GIFT FROM GOD.

It doesn't really get boring after you beat the game, because then you get to do side quests.

In AC2, there are 100 story-mode quests, and 100 side quests, which about 25 different mission types.

Its worth the buy.Should I get dragon age: origins or borderlands or assassins creed 2?
    dragon age is longer

    borderlands is better

assassins creed is out of this world
To be honest I'd pick Borderlands because of the online experience
    AC2
A really tough choice man. Also, you have awesome taste in games. Now, lets break down the choices.

Assassin's Creed 2: An amazing game. At least 3 times better then the original. If you liked AC1 then you will ADORE AC2. It has all the best of AC1 with very little of the bad. I beat the whole thing in about a week but that was me playing for close to 10 or more hours a day (how my Box hasn't red-ringed is beyond me). Besides some slight issues (free running can be frustrating, some missions have annoying try-die-repeat style to them and no way to quickly travel from one end of a city to another) I honestly consider a sleeper hit and Game of the Year for 2009.

Borderlands: I have yet to play this but all my friends love it even though a few feel it gets really old after so many hours. Has a very Fallout quality to it and the game does look insanly beautiful with the cel-shaded graphics.

Dragon Age Origins: Yes, this game was built from the ground up to run on a PC. No, the 360 version does not suck. Just don't compare it to the PC version. Bioware are masters of the RPG and this is NO exception. While I do feel that the individual opening origin stories could use abit more variety (why can't I be a Human Commoner? or an Elven Noble?) the game is amazing. The battle system isn't perfect but the added feature of regenerating health, mana and stamina after each battle make for some tense fights instead of endless slogs of lowly grunts chipping away at your health till the big mother-lover comes out. Plus, many play throughs will clock in at over 70 hours. Do the math and you have a game that I do not think anyone will see 100% of.

In short, AC2 is amazing and worthy of a buy once the price drops, Borderlands seems like a very fun rental and DRO is a game that will keep you busy till the holiday season of 2012.

Do I need to have played Dragon Age: Origins to understand Dragon Age 2?

I really love all of Bioware's games and many RPG's, but I did not really hear of Dragon Age when it came out. I want to play the original and the sequel but I'd rather not spend too much money. If it was possible, I would just play the sequel if I could understand it. Please help and thank you.Do I need to have played Dragon Age: Origins to understand Dragon Age 2?
Dragon Age is a pretty good game but I don't think you need the first to understand the 2nd since the 2nd takes place LONG after the first.

Dragon Age Origins: Do I need to start with #1?

With the upcoming release of Dragon Age Origins 2 I want to buy it. But I want to know if I should play the first Dragon Age first. Does it follow the same story or is it completely new plot? Thanks to all you fellow nerds who answer my question :)Dragon Age Origins: Do I need to start with #1?
well they are different stories. But i think 2 starts off during Origins. You also meet a lot of people from the first game i think. But im sure its a lot different. I would play 1 just for story purposes but if you planning on beating it before 2 comes out you will have to play for like 2 days straightDragon Age Origins: Do I need to start with #1?
You don't have to play dragon age origins to get dragon age 2. It will not affect dragon age 2. So there is no need to play it. But some events that were in dragon age origins will be seen from a different angle in dragon age 2.

Hey, do any of you people know of a game that is like Dragon Age: Origins?

I just finished Dragon Age: Origins with most of the DLC's but im getting tired of the multiple controlled party members but i love the skill tree based concept etc

It would be nice if people who has actually played the games answer and just doesnt google they have no idea about.Hey, do any of you people know of a game that is like Dragon Age: Origins?
The Witcher (Enhanced version) was probably the other big recent role player game, and is more recent than things like Baldur's Gate.

Mass Effect was made by the same people as Dragon Age (Bioware), and has generally positive reviews, too. It's more a space thing though, and its sequel is actually due out in just a couple months.Hey, do any of you people know of a game that is like Dragon Age: Origins?
You could get Baldur's Gate (1 or 2). In fact, DA is considered the "spiritual sequel" to BG 2.

Both of these games do however require you to control multiple party-members. But ,I don't know how much you care, as they are 10 years old they do have quite crappy graphics compared to modern games. No problem in my eyes though. Oh, and another great game without control of multiple characters -%26gt; Diablo II. Great game with this skill tree you talk of, maybe not in the same fashion, but still...

What kind of game is Dragon Age Origins?

I don't know if I would like it. I saw the trailer for it where there killing this giant dragon and it looked badass but Is this game fun? What kind of game is Dragon Age Origins?
Ya his game is like Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter Nights or some of the old western RPG games. It is not an action game it is an RPG with a deep combat system with heavy story elements. Combat is in real time but extremely tactical, and the player autoattacks while using special moves designed for the class that he picked. I forgot the name of each class, but classes can specialize in different roles pertaining to the class for example: A mage can be a shape shifter, a pure offensive caster, or a healing support mage. The game is very good, and the story will have its twists and turns. It IS a hard game so beware :PWhat kind of game is Dragon Age Origins?
The game is absolutely amazing. It's and RPG (Role-Playing Game). And to say that it's called "Dragon Age" There are only 3 main, Dragons that are fully grown. Of course there are some smaller ones, like baby ones and adolescent. But if you like RPGs then you'll love Dragon Age.What kind of game is Dragon Age Origins?
I LOVE Dragon Age. It is from the makers of KOTOR, Mass Effect, Jade Empire, etc.

It is an RPG that can endings depending on your choices. Great replay value. HIGHLY reccomended
i think its like oblivion or god of war typeish game

  • Is Dragon Age origins easy to play on xbox 360?

I want to buy dragon age origins for xbox 360, i have played it for pc and have played numerous rpgs for both xbox and pc. I didn't know if it was harder on xbox because you don't have the accessibility of spells since you are limited to buttons. also if you could compare it to another game in terms of how the spells are selected and how the controls are. thanks. Is Dragon Age origins easy to play on xbox 360?
Not really, and it's boring. Really boring, long tedious somewhat linear game pace.

How long does it take to get into Dragon Age Origins?

I just finished my origins story as a noble human. Now I am at the king's place with Duncan. I dunno, it just hasn't really drawn me in or anything so far... In fact it's been kind of boring. So my question is, how long does it take to "get into it"?

I am a big fan of Bioware, my favorite game of all time is Knights of the Old Republic, and I love the Mass Effect games. How long does it take to get into Dragon Age Origins?
To tell you the truth, I was uninterested w/ DA:O up to exactly where you were as well. Without spoilers, the story takes a turn pretty soon which was enough to spark my interest to continue playing for a little while longer.

To me the biggest enjoyment of this game was how you can develop your relations with your party members. They all have a unique personality that you're gonna love or hate. Either way, this game will draw you in the longer you play so keep at it!

PS. If you have the DLC Stone Prisoner, you owe it to yourself to at least play through that first. Many people love the character you find there. How long does it take to get into Dragon Age Origins?
It takes a little while. Recruiting all of the races is the main part of the story and will get you a little involved in the game but the sidequests are what really got me interested. Give it a couple more hours of gameplay before you decide. How long does it take to get into Dragon Age Origins?
When I hit Lothering, things started to warm up. By the time I reached Redcliff, I really wanted to know how this thing was going to turn out.

I replayed it perhaps five or so times since then. After I play DA2, I'll probably re-play DAO again.

How Do I Get All Of My Dlc's For Dragon Age: Origins Back After I Deleted Them?

How to romance Leliana in Dragon Age Origins?

I am trying to get all of the romance achievements in Dragon Age and I am missing Leliana. I do not have options to "start" a relationship. I only have the whole "traveling minstrel story" option now. I've gone through and talked to her about those other dialogs, about her being in the Chantry and such. I don't have any idea of how to do this one. I have her approval up to 100% and everything. What the heck do I do?!How to romance Leliana in Dragon Age Origins?
once you have done her side quest you need to keep going back and forth to the camp site ( which is a pain) and just talk to her, even if its the same topics.sooner or later as you get through the main story line you will get the chance to romance her.you have done the hard part of getting her approval to 100%,so now its just a matter of time.hope this helps.have fun gaming. How to romance Leliana in Dragon Age Origins?
IF you are in a relationship with someone else she might not start the new dialog with you. IT could also be a glitch, happened to me on the 360 version, not sure which it could be for you.How to romance Leliana in Dragon Age Origins?
I believe you must progress further into the story. Giving scripted gifts like the Cute Nug can also initiate the sub-plot.
you need to complete her side quest once she opens up about her past and why she ran there will be a random encounter that you got to beat then it opens up her quest

What class and race should i pick for dragon age origins?

on dragon age origins i started playing as a human warrior but i dont like him because i skipped the chin and the preset one is massive and i cant stop noticing it and im still not sure what to role because i could not open a tone of chests and the spells on mage and staffs look really cool but then i dont want to dye in an instant at the start plus it took me ages 2 hours to do the bit up to taking morrigon to the village what should i do?What class and race should i pick for dragon age origins?
    What I suggest:

    Human / Dwarf Berserker/Templar 2h Warrior

Human / Dwarf Berserker/Templar Duel Wielding Warrior ( kinda the same as a warrior except more focused into Strength and has great armour, like Duncan :P )

    Human Blood Mage Mage

    Human Arcane Warrior Mage

    Elf Ranger Rogue

    Elf Assassin Rogue

The ones I listed above proved to me to be really awesome! My favorite of them all at the moment is Berserker/Templar 2h Warrior :D.

Mage is kewl too, i enjoy doing AOE damage and blood magic.

If you make a rogue, make sure he's a back stabbing rogue. What class and race should i pick for dragon age origins?
Mages aren't built like toilet paper in Dragon Age, which is a relief to me because on some quests your whole party will go down and you can actually finish off the enemies, with the help of health poultices. I would personally go with a mage because that's my favorite character so far, but if you do wanna be able to open everything you'd have to pick a rogue. From the amount of time I played on my rogue most chests don't contain anything worth just picking that whole class for. I love this game and would go with whatever class you want to use. What class and race should i pick for dragon age origins?
Mages are fun. As long as you stay out of the way and bring a tank with you, you won't die easily. You need to be a rogue if you want to open chests, though if you bring Leilana with you she can take care of most of them.

Maybe read some guides and see if that helps you decide. Or play on easy mode until you get a larger variety of party members.

  • Possible to play through Dragon Age: Origins with just one set of armour?

I have started my 3rd character on Dragon Age. I'm a male human noble warrior level 5 or 6 (i can't remember at the moment) and I'm at Ostagar right before the tower of Ishal. I have my original armour that I had since the beginning. I'm wondering if it's possible to play through the game with this same armour, only upgrading sword and shield and attributes. Any sort of info is appreciated.Possible to play through Dragon Age: Origins with just one set of armour?
    Sure that works.

If you're not tanking like they said... Heck. Go spartan, bro. Sword, shield, boots, and helm!
@Vealrado-Love the Spartan input, Spartans were the beasts!

Possible to play through Dragon Age: Origins with just one set of armour?
Theres nothing stoppping you, no, it just makes the game more difficult at times, as some of the armor and clothes can give pretty handy bonuses. To compensate for the lack of armor (if this is how you are choosing to play) you'll definately want to level your character as high as you can, and avoid some of the more difficult parts of the storyline until you are much higher level.
If you don't consider tanking with your character, then you probably don't need to upgrade your armor much. Some extra stats are nice but they don't really make a big difference.Possible to play through Dragon Age: Origins with just one set of armour?
i don't see why not, as long as you compensate by increasing your constitution and strength and have loads of health potions.

Same as Drake, you can get it both as a hard copy or on marketplace, also if your in the UK unfortunately it comes out on the 19th March, there are some deals out there which give you free armor/weapons if you pre-order it so shops around for a good deal

Does a basic, new copy of Dragon Age: Origins come with Shale and the Blood Dragon armor?

My friend bought the collectors edition a while back and got these two pieces of content, but I looked online and it said that you just have to have a new copy to get these two. Can the new copy be basic?I just bought Dragon Age online (a new copy) I'd really like to have that armor for Mass Effect 2.Does a basic, new copy of Dragon Age: Origins come with Shale and the Blood Dragon armor?
It does come with both codes...i bought the regular edition from Walmart right after christmas and i got the code Shale on one side and on the other side was the code for the armor on Mass Effect 2..which i dont even play...if it turns out that it would cost extra to get this armor, message me and ill give you my code...because it is highly unlikely that i will ever choose to play that game...Does a basic, new copy of Dragon Age: Origins come with Shale and the Blood Dragon armor?
A new copy(doesn't matter which version) should come with the code for Shale (saving you 1200 Microsoft points, or at least it cost that much to buy that download by itself), however you will not likely get the Blood Dragon armor. The armor was a pre-order bonus and since most of the Collector's Editions of the game was supposed to be for pre-order only (the place your friend got it from might have had a few copies that didn't get pre-ordered or didn't get picked up for a pre-order), so it's not likely you'll be able to find the armor now. You could buy it separately on eBay or somewhere, but people on there usually charge outrageous prices for the codes.

You should definitely not miss the dragons. What should i not miss in dragon age origins?
-Make sure you get every possible companion. Some like the dog and sten are easy to miss.

-Get every party member's approval up so you don't miss their personal quests

-Put at least one rank in pick pocketing, this opens up a line of quests and you can get some loot

-Hold down the tab key when you travel, it will show you where hidden things are and keep you from missing out on things. What should i not miss in dragon age origins?
Why, the controversial "love-scene" of course. I heard Bioware is not gonna put anymore of it in Awakening.

Dragon Age II is one of the best games i have played in a long time. I love what they did with the new combat. Mages are more fun to play now then they were in Origins and I love playing mages. The only complaint i would have is that you can not change the armor of your companions but its a very minor complaint. Will an NVidia Geforce 9400 be able to run the Mac versions Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age 2?
Check the the video card and computer requirements for the game. It can be found on the back of the box. From what I read, probably not.
I would say yes. I believe you may be able to run the game. Maybe not on max but yeah.

What sort of a game is dragon age origins?

i'm new to RPG games,i'm a hardcore fps guy,but i got really hooked to fallout 3.

so i was searching for some good RPG games n i came accross dragon age origins,is it some thing like fallout 3? (i dont mean the setting or weapons) i mean is it something like WOW or do i play it in first person or 3'rd person(like gta) ??

also is it worth buying(for pc) or is it just media hype surrounding the game? What sort of a game is dragon age origins?
It's definitely a great RPG. The game is set in a fantasy world (magic, evil creatures, etc.). Kinda like a Lord of the Rings type thing. It's played in 3rd person. Your main character sets off on a journey and meets others along the way, so you play the game with a party.
It's somewhat like Mass Effect + Freedom Force vs The 3rd Reich but you can select which character to control at any point during the game, you may pause from time to time for a tactical planning of how to handle a situation. You can set the way your AI partymates move and attack. You can select your entire party like a warcraft3-ish style or control them individually. You can control the growth of each character. It's also great because there will be times when you have to make decisions which can affect how the story goes and how the people see your character.

It's absolutely awesome, graphics, story, concepts, skills, everything...and that's the problem, it's waaay too impressive. I wouldn't recommend it unless you play it on xbox. I'm running on 6gb ram, intel core2duo 3ghz, nvidia geforce 9800, 64bit win7...and it was choppy for most parts, and extremely choppy at mob battles. What sort of a game is dragon age origins?
Dragon Age origins is a brilliant game with an epic story that follows you (A grey warden) Fighting a never ending war and gathering an army of Elves, Humans, Werewolves and even dwarfs!

You will meet all sorts of interesting characters, some evil and some good; some who fight for justice some who just fight.

It's more like WoW than Fallout 3; third person medieval fantasy style. It's A LOT better on the PC than any console, you will get magic, skills and various special attacks.

    Hope that helped!
3rd person, great story, great character customization and ability customization for you and your several followers, great expansion(awakening), and good swords magic n bows gameplay with a wide variety of special attacks and spells. i guess in that last aspect and the spells/abilities, sorta WoWishWhat sort of a game is dragon age origins?
It's similar to Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and Diablo. Meaning you have to select your attacks and abilities. It's not like an FPS where you just point and shoot.
3rd person.. kinda like that shrek game on ps2

Looking for a new RPG to play for ps3 - Demon Souls or Dragon Age Origins?

Demon Souls or Dragon Age Origins? I keep hearing good things about these games from peers. I've read reviews but I am completely torn. Demon Souls has a generic feel to it, and is compared to Diablo. I've never been a fan of Diablo. Suggestions from you gamer folk?Looking for a new RPG to play for ps3 - Demon Souls or Dragon Age Origins?
im confused to.... not sure what to get but i heard demon souls is really hard yet you can have people online help you through story mode. the only downfall is that when u die, you have to start the level all over again plus you lose everything you earned.

Dragon age on the other hand doesnt have that online feature that DS has(i think) but if it does i would say go for Dragon ageLooking for a new RPG to play for ps3 - Demon Souls or Dragon Age Origins?

Which Platform should I purchase Dragon Age Origins for?

I think I'm going to get Dragon Age Origins and I was wondering whether I should get it for PC, X-Box 360, or PS3.

Is the game play or graphics or anything really different on any of them?Which Platform should I purchase Dragon Age Origins for?
I say PS3. That's what I have an it amazing!! The graphics are awesome and since its on the PS3 it saves automatically at critical points. I don't think the X-Box does that. Plus the PS3 has the internet hooked directly to everything you do so you can make an account for the game online on whatever website it tells you and your progress is shown online. And its constantly updated. Plus, I heard on the X-Box the graphics are really off and look super bad. I love the game. You should buy it for PS3, I don't know how well it is on the pc, but since its such an intricate game it may run really slow on your computer. Its a huge game! and it sucks on xbox soo...Which Platform should I purchase Dragon Age Origins for?
The best answer is wrong, it will be best on PC. Graphics and everything wise.

I bought my copy for PC, and would recommend that.

I have heard that their are quite a number of minor issues on the console versions, as well as some graphical limitations. Here is a quote from a review I read:

On PC the game is reservedly handsome, enlivened by atmospheric lighting and a fine finish on the game's virtual actors. On the Xbox, though, Dragon Age looks just plain ugly and out-of-date. It's plastered in muddy textures, washed-out colour and bad shadowing, giving it a grimy look that doesn't suit the classical art style at all, and exposing the rough-hewn, low-detail environments in a harsh light.

You can read the rest of the review here:

I'd say PC. They released the dev kit already and people will be making mods for a long time to come. Can't get any of that on consoles.

  • Will there be a sequel or second game after Dragon Age Origins?

My mom got Dragon Age Origins (PS3) for Xmas, and I decided to play it, and I absolutely love it. The game is a bit short though, but still. Probably one of the best games I've played, in my opinion, in a while. I just recently finished the game and was wondering if there is going to be a sequel to it. I'd absolutely die if there is :DWill there be a sequel or second game after Dragon Age Origins?
    Yes there is Awakening.

    Here's the link http://dragonage.bioware.com/awakening

It's a sequel to the first part after you slay the Arch-Demon.

Don't want to spoil anything from the trailer, great veiwing

It's going to cost $40 USD as far as I know and about 8GB so it should be full of content.

There are other expansions to "The Wardens Keep" and "The Stone Prisoner"

It will be downloadable and sold separate in stores.

Great trailer Enjoy I know I will. Will there be a sequel or second game after Dragon Age Origins?

Did the creators of Dark Alliance make dragon age origins?

I was wondering because i heard it some where and i really liked all the dark alliance games. So i was hesitant to get dragon age origins but if the creators of dark alliance made it i would have high hopes for the game and would undoubtedly get it.

Also if you would like to post your opinion of the game dragon age origins i would really appreciate your input and your experience with the game.Did the creators of Dark Alliance make dragon age origins?
black isle studio's made that one, but bioware published it (dragon age dev's)
    bioware developed 1 and 2.

black isle studio's then went on to form obsidian entertainment. from there they developed annoyingly buggy but usually good games.

bioware has recently done mass effect as well.Did the creators of Dark Alliance make dragon age origins?
I could be wrong but I don't think Dark Alliance was made by Bio-ware. Dragon Age originss is one of my favorites. Huge game with a lot to do. Don't know if you played any of the Starwars Knights of the Old Republic games but the system is a lot like that where every decition effects the gameplay. An RPG worth the money.

For Dragon Age origins, what are the differences between the Xbox 360 and PC versions?

Between the Xbox 360 and PC versions of Dragon Age, what are the differences? For Dragon Age origins, what are the differences between the Xbox 360 and PC versions?
On a high-end PC, the graphics might look a bit better. Other than that, the pair of three swappable shortcuts in the bottom right corner of the console version is replaced with a standard hot bar, where powers, stances, and skills can be slotted just as they are in countless MMO titles. The select button menu is nowhere to be seen, with the PC version instead featuring a row of buttons at the top of the screen, allowing quick access to inventory, your journal, character stats, and the like. The PC version of Dragon Age allows players to scroll backwards into an overhead, Baldur's Gate-like camera, presenting a much more tactical view of the map you are on. It also allows a more tactical approach to battles, so the difficulty is bumped up a notch for the PC.

And finally, the PC version allows you to use tons of great mods. For Dragon Age origins, what are the differences between the Xbox 360 and PC versions?
the games are almost identical being it follows the same story line but the way you can pause the game and look around is changed because in the xbox 360 version you get a wheel giving you options and you cannot really look around to focus on where to direct your focus onto but in the computer version you can actually zoom out and look at the state your party is in and such. You also cannot have as many abilities set so that they can be easily used in the xbox version where as you have a full bar to place all of your best abilities on due to the lack of buttons on the xbox 360.

Is dragon age origins ultimate edition worth it?

Iam thinking about buying DGO: ultimate edition for 28pounds. I used to play alot of dragon age origins had all sorts of chars etc etc.So are the dlcs any good and worth the 28 pounds? Is dragon age origins ultimate edition worth it?
If you can sell your original for about 拢10 and get this version for 拢28 it will be only 拢18 for all dlc which is excellent value for money. But the DLC is only good if you are a fan, which I think you are, so you will enjoy them, but if you just like the content you will be disappointed because there is not a lot of it (apart from Awakening) but there is lots of storyline and character development which make it interesting to play.

If you played it a lot and had lots of chars and you got into the story then you will enjoy the DLC and it is definitely worth it.

What's the best first class for Dragon Age: Origins?

I ordered Dragon Age: Origins (xbox 360) online and it's coming in in a day or two, and i was wondering what the best first class would be. I'll most likely be an elf. If it makes any difference (not sure how close or different the combat systems are), when i played World of Warcraft, my mains were warrior and death knight. Also, reasons behind your answer are helpful. Thanks ^^What's the best first class for Dragon Age: Origins?
Typical Group :ur typical group in combat will contain one tank, one mage and 2 damage dealers. In the early stages of the game and on easier difficulties u can choose to have all of them in melee range if you wish. The downside is that u r grouping up ur characters, which can put them all at risk of area effect spells and abilities. This also means that ur characters need to run around in order to engage enemies at a distance.Any time you are not swinging ur weapon at an enemy and they are is time where u are losing.

Better Group :A tank, a mage and 2 ranged attackers are an improvement over the typical group. While ur tank runs in and engages the enemy, their role is not to deal damage but to absorb it,so there is no time lost.In the meantime, all ur ranged attackers can focus on and eliminate enemy targets with relative ease.A possible hiccup here is that enemies will start to run towards ur ranged attackers, meaning the tank will be running around a whole lot and u'll need to really manage ur team.Still, from a damage dealing perspective, this group is a very solid make-up.

Best Group :Obviously using the word best is subjective.Everyone will have their own opinion about this but in my experience, this is the easiest way to move through the game without continual reloading. As mentioned in the previous section, ranged combat is preferable to melee since u're dealing damage the entire time rather than running around. It also ensures that ur using the most powerful class in the game to their maximum potential. The best group is made up of a tank and 3 mages. I'm sure u're thinking, wow it's hard enough to manage a single mage, how can I handle 3? That's the beauty about it,u only really need to manage a single one.Put the other two on tactics that attack whomever you are targetting and let the computer cast away.I can guarantee that 3 mages casting Blizzard,Inferno and Tempest will destroy any group of enemies u encounter.Even more so if they all have access to Force Field to protect ur tank and each other. There are many ways to build your group and in the end it's up to u to decide which formation works best for u.

that was only a suggestion that u may want to try out ,if u need more help just email me.

    ===================================

EDITED: sorry forgot to mention this :

When u begin the game u choose which gender, race, and class u want to be.This ultimately leads to which Origin u will embark upon. All Origins lead to the same main story line, the beginning will be different from one origin to the others but once ur reached Lothering it'll be the same except for some alteration in the way that characters interact with u through out the game. ur base stats are also determined by the race and class u select.

hope that helps %26amp; enjoy the excellent game :)What's the best first class for Dragon Age: Origins?
There all bout the same. I started with rouge and liked it but warriors and rouge seem to be bout the same. Rouges can lockpick which is great throughout the game so id start with rouge seeing as you can lockpick and it will make game easier for first time. THen as you learn teh gaem and beat it then try mage or warriorWhat's the best first class for Dragon Age: Origins?
I have no regrets with elf mage.

Elf because they're cool and mage because you get some insane mage powers in the game. You'll have a party of four and some people play three mages and a 'tank' (warrior)

What are all the games that are very similar to Dragon Age: Origins?

Need a list of quite a number of games that are very similar to the game "Dragon Age: Origins"What are all the games that are very similar to Dragon Age: Origins?
Both Star wars: knights of the old republic games. Kotor 1 was made by Bioware, like Dragon age. Kotor 2 was made by Obsidian Entertainment(Suggested to Lucasarts by Bioware, because Bioware was busy making Jade Empire(Which is another game that plays similar to Dragon age, though I've found it to be rather short)). Although made by a different company, KOTOR 2 plays exactly like KOTOR 1(but due to a rush for release for the 2004 holiday season, A lot of content was cut from KOTOR 2, and it was very buggy when released(if you get it for xbox, make sure you get the most updated realease, if for PC, you can find an updated patch online)).
AJ has the best answer, but let me add to that that BioWare has a Sci-Fi series that play very like Dragon Age called Mass Effect.

Mass Effect follows Commander Shepard in covering the invasion of council space by a race of aliens. There is a central plot to follow and several side quests. You will join the Specters (think grey wardens with an unlimited special effects and weapons technology budget!), assemble a team and be given command of an elite experimental starship to pursue the main villain in the central plot and attempt to prevent the destruction of more colonies. There is an opportunity to change the outcome of your friends' fates through influence, romance or plot choices.

Mass Effect 2 picks up a few months after the conclusion of Mass Effect. Many of your companions from the first game either return or are seen briefly. If you import the previous saved game, your choices from the first game will affect the environment in the second game. Commander Shepard attains a legendary/Chuck Norris reputation (Shepard will get killed early on, and it only pisses him/her off), goes rogue with some shady funding and a new ship, reassembles a team and heads back out to try and find the source of the aliens again. Choices again to influence your friends, or romance them, or stay true to your romance from the first game. Plot choices heavily affect how your team survives the final battle, or if you do yourself, and will influence the final chapter in the series (Mass Effect 3).

The hardest would be the Arch-demon. He is the "Final Boss".How many demons are in dragon age origins or like which one is the hardest to beat?
There's a boss for every major quest and many of the side quests, sometimes more than one. The hardest is the Arch Demon at the end of the game, but only because they purposely make it time consuming to kill. It's not really hard. How many demons are in dragon age origins or like which one is the hardest to beat?
There a plenty, the arch demon being the hardest..but the other random demons go in this order of strength: Rage Demons, Sloth Demons, Desire Demons, and lastly the strongest of the common demons, Pride demons.

    hope this helps!

What did you think of Dragon Age Origins?

So my brother asked me what I wanted for my birthday and I am really wanting an RPG. I'm leaning towards Dragon Age Origins, and then after playing that I might get Dragon Age 2. What did you think of Dragon Age Origins if you've played it? And should I get it or not? What did you think of Dragon Age Origins?
If you have enough time on your hands, definitely get the game. Between the multiple origin stories, the DLC's, and the multiple story choices you can make throughout the game, you rarely play the same game twice.

I suggest getting the game in the double pack with Awakening. You should definitely play Awakening after Origins but before DA 2.

As for what I think of Origins, it is in my top 5 all time Xbox games. What did you think of Dragon Age Origins?
If you like fantasy RPGs that are heavy on story and dialogue you will like the Dragon Age series. The games is massive, easily 50+ hours of gameplay. Each time you start another character you are sure to find something new. The game also reacts to your choices and there are dozens of possible endings. There are a couple of downsides though. Combat can feel slow and tedious at times. The inventory is also messy and awkward to deal with.

Your best bet is to group together on one of them at a time that way they die easily also if you have health potions use them do not worry about how many you use they can always be gathered again. Have morrigan use some more area spells to so she can hit more than one enemy like tempest or blizzard if you got them. Also if you are having major trouble try to lower the diffuculty or wait until you gain a few levels.

how do you kill the broodmother in dragon age origins? i get her health to half and she kills three of my guys by then and then i die i don't have any health items. Is there a way to avoid her by backtracking or something? How do you kill the broodmother in dragon age origins?
There are ramps that go up behind her / it to either side. I believe you're better sheltered if you go up the one on the right.

As long as your characters stay there, they're relatively immune to her attacks, though you need to be ready for some darkspawn (?) to come once or twice.

From that sheltered location you can have a mage launch area of effect attacks (like blizzard or tempest), and/or you can have a mage or other characters periodicaly go down the ramp, launch a ranged attack at her or her tentacles, and run back up. You might try having a mage do a cone of cold, have one other character come and attack, then run them both back up the ramp as it thaws, for example.

Anyway, you mainly need to get your party hidden on the backside where they're relatively sheltered. And I'd then do manual control of one character at a time to do things as described with the others simply staying put and ready to battle darkspawn that show up from time to time. And hopefully you have at least *some* health items or abilities in tow at all times at that point in the game....
set you mages tactics so she will stay back and shoot at it, and you and your other two characters should attack the tentacles and when there gone attack the blood-mother.How do you kill the broodmother in dragon age origins?

Do us a favor and don't turn it in to Game Stop please. Your parents paid a good 60$ for that game and Game Stop will only give you maybe 20$. I dont know how you got Bully for Wii but you'll maybe get about 13$. GTAIV for the 360 they'll give you maybe 25$.

So in total you'll get bout 58$. As soon as you leave that Game Stop those assholes will put Dragon Age for 60, Bully for 30 and GTA for 40$. They will rip you off so bad so please sell it to a friend that wants it or eBay because there youll get your moneys worth.

It really has no affect on the game which is made king. If you play as a dwarf you find out how bad of a person Bhelen truly is but if you make him King you find out that he was a fairly good ruler in the epilogue and with Horrowmont hes a decent person but in the epilogue not necessarily a better ruler. I've played numerous times and have had both of them as king and other than a change in the epilogue there really isn't any change to the game so do which ever one you find easiest or the one you haven't done yet. What are the outcomes for choosing the Kings in Orzammar: Dragon Age Origins?
    Spoilers:

If you choose to support Harrowmont, later you will discover in the epilogue that his reign was troubled, and that he eventually fell ill - likely from poison - and died.

If Bhelen becomes king, he rules as a reformist and works to strengthen Orzammar's connection with the surface world. He also offers casteless greater rights and privileges in exchange for military service against the darkspawn. This policy allows Orzammar to reclaim lost territory, but angers the warrior and noble castes. After several attempts on his life, Bhelen dissolves the Assembly and rules alone. Opinion is divided as to whether he should be remembered as a tyrant or a progressive ruler. What are the outcomes for choosing the Kings in Orzammar: Dragon Age Origins?

How to make a haste archer in Dragon age origins?

I want now how to make a haste archer in dragon age origins( an archer that shoots fast). I want to now what class to take(warrior or rogue).what talents to use, what type of a bow to use and specializations and talents, where to put my points( atk,dex ...) and so on. thanks in advance .How to make a haste archer in Dragon age origins?
ROGUE is the best for range attack so go for it and try this :

    Attributes :

    Strength :n/a ==Dexterity :MAX ==Willpower :30 ==Magic :n/a ==Cunning :30 ==Constitution :n/a .

The only reason u would need strength is to equip better armor but better armor means more fatigue and u should not be getting hit in the first place.Willpower will give u the stamina required to use all ur abilities but u may find u need more or less, depending on ur style.Cunning, again,is required only if u wish to unlock doors and chests or invest in the Bard tree.Maximum dexterity means that u will be doing crazy damage with ur bow, critical hits through the roof and near 100% hit rate.I assure u, a

ranged rogue is the deadliest single character in the game.

Abilities :The ranged rogue will evidently be focusing on the Archery ability tree. Dual Wield options don't present any benefits to this role and even the specialisation trees offer little in terms of pure benefits. If ur main character is a rogue, u can acquire 2 free abilities in the Warden's Keep.

    Rogue Abilities :

Dirty Fighting: No damage but the target is stunned. This is still a great ability even if u are attacking from range.Let's say someone walks up to u, use this and u can get in a few free shots and give time for the tank to pick them up off u.

Combat Movement: Since you won't be backstabbing, not much point here.

Coup de Grace: Again, no backstabs, no benefit.

Feign Death: Drop to ur feet and pretend ur dead. This could be beneficial if u find ur self getting attacked a lot but in the larger picture u have much better options elsewhere.

Below the Belt: A melee range attack, which u being ranged won't be using.

Deadly Strike: Another melee attack, no use here.

Lethality: Odds are ur cunning will be higher than ur strength and additional damage is always good.Increased critical chance is sugar on top.I'm not sure if this stacks though.

Evasion:ur dexterity is going to be in the 50s at least, where enemies will miss u all the time anyhow. Not worth the investment.

Deft Hands:If u plan on investing in cunning to 30, always select this ability when it becomes available. Otherwise, just leave it alone.

Stealth:The first level lets u walk around. The second lets u disable traps, which is very powerful later on.The third lets u stealth in combat, which oddly enough doesn't work super well until u get the fourth rank. This is a very useful ability for a ranged attacker, especially at maximum rank.Use it whenever u can to break enemies chasing u or to increase ur damage output.

    Warden's Keep abilities:

Dark Passage: Passive ability that increases movement speed and defense. What's there not to love about this?

The Tainted Blade:u lose health but do more damage. This only seems to affect melee damage, so no real benefit.

    Archery abilities:

Melee Archer:No longer breaks ranged attacks if you get hit. Excellent ability.

Aim:u might shoot a bit slower but the overall damage seems to increase if only because of the increase to attack. At about level 10 this loses its luster as u will be hitting almost 100% of the time.

Defensive Fire: Increasing defense and slower rate of fire does not mean more damage.I would not use this.

Master Archer:Increases the function of nearly every other ability and allows u to use heavy armor without a speed penalty.Considering that means u need more strength, it really isn't that useful.

Pinning Shot:It either slows them down or disables them for about 10 seconds.A great tool to have fighting a group of enemies.

Crippling Shot:Reduces the enemy's attack and defense, which is perfect against red and yellow enemies. No need to use against regular enemies.

Critical Shot:Since this also has the benefit or armor penetration, u r going to see a big number here when it hits.Dragons, revenants and bosses will make u chain cast this ability.

Arrow of Slaying:A single massive damage attack that can potentially kill the enemy in a single blow.Yes it's powerful but the cost is disproportionate to the damage when u compare it to Critical Shot.

Rapid Shot:u shoot about 10% faster but can't get a critical hit.The only time this is a problem is when ur critical chance with a bow is above 15%. Otherwise, keep this active at all times.

Shattering Shot:Normal damage but reduces enemy armor for a time.Has a huge impact on high armor bosses, especially when combined with telekenetic weapons (for melee).

Suppressing Fire:Every attack further reduces the enemy's ability to attack. While this is certainly beneficial against some enemies most of the ones where u would think this to be great have other

attacks that hit 100% of the time. This only appears to affect regular attacks to any great amount.

Scattershot: Crazy powerful ability here.u will stun an entire group of enemies about 99% of the time, it is so rarely resisted.A great way to line up a group in order to send a few area of effect spells their way.

Bard specialization:All songs here are affected by cunning scores, so if u don't plan on investing down that attribute, avoid this specialization.Only the last song requires u to be in melee range.

Song of Valor:Increase mana and stamina regeneration, which is beneficial to the entire group. Keep it active.

Distraction: Good way to get an enemy off ur back but there are better abilities to use for the same effect.

Song of Courage:Grants bonus to attack, defense and critical chance for the group. This is useful at the start of the game but near the end mana and stamina are a bigger concern.

Captivating Song:Sure an area effect stun is nice but the range is small and u have to be in melee. Hard to use as a ranged attacker.

Ranger specialization:As a ranged attacker a ranger works incredbily well.u keep the pet active and send them in while u snipe from far away. It's almost like having a fifth party member.

Summon Wolf:The basic wolf casts howl that reduces enemy defense. The upgraded wolf can Shred, which is a 100% critical hit.

Summon Bear: Basic bear can maul which knocks back the enemy. The upgraded bear has rage which increases damage output.

Summon Spider:Basic spider has web which immobilizes an enemy while the upgraded one has a poison spit for continual damage.

Master Ranger:Gives u access to the upgraded anmials.

    Suggested Build :

Attributes:increase strength to 20 to wear the best armor.Dexterity is where u put every other point, unless u plan on lockpicking.30 points and 3 ranks of deft hands are enough.

Abilities:I will only list 1 ability per level (2 for the first and one at level 5 when u become a Grey Warden) even though u can acquire more points from books and quests.Rogues automatically get Dirty Fighting for free at level 1.

    1)Deft Hands + Rapid Shot,2)Shattering Shot,3)Pinning Shot,4)Crippling Shot,5) Suppressing Fire + Improved Tools,6)Critical Shot,7)Summon Wolf,8)Summon Bear,9)Scattershot,10)Summon Spider, 11)Melee Archer,12)Arrow of Slaying,13)Master Ranger,14)Song of Valor,15)Aim,16)Defensive Fire,

    17)Master Archer,18)ur Choice,19)ur Choice,20)ur Choice.

hope that helps %26amp; enjoy the excellent game :)How to make a haste archer in Dragon age origins?

I would just build it like any other archer. Be a rogue though. And just have the fast aiming ability activated at all times. I played through as an archer on my first time and was hitting over 500 with Arrow of slaying and have not come close to hitting that with my 2handed warrior or sword and shield warrior. Archers are a very nice class.
